Events Guys

A professional web presence for a versatile events company

Events Guys

The challenge

Events Guys is a UK events management company with over 40 years of experience delivering everything from private parties to large-scale festivals, corporate events, and live entertainment. They offer a comprehensive suite of services including AV hire, live entertainment booking, and full project management — yet their online presence told almost none of that story.

The website undersold the business. Four decades of experience across hundreds of events, and the site looked like it belonged to a startup. There was no sense of the scale, professionalism, or breadth of services on offer. Potential clients — particularly corporate buyers making significant budget decisions — needed more confidence before picking up the phone.

The portfolio was invisible. Events Guys had delivered some impressive events over the years, but there was no showcase. No photography, no case studies, no evidence of the quality and variety of their work. In an industry where visual proof is everything, this was a critical gap.

Service descriptions were vague. The site lumped everything under a generic “Services” page. A client looking for AV hire had to wade through party planning content. A festival organiser couldn’t quickly see whether Events Guys had the right experience. Each service line needed its own space to breathe.

The approach

Structuring 40 years of experience

The first challenge was organising four decades of work into a structure that made sense for different audiences. I identified three core service pillars that shape how clients approach Events Guys:

  1. Private parties — Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and celebrations
  2. Festivals and live events — Outdoor events, music festivals, and live entertainment programming
  3. Corporate events — Product launches, conferences, company parties, and team-building events

Each pillar has a distinct audience with different expectations, budgets, and decision-making processes. The site needed to speak to all three without feeling fragmented.

Building trust through evidence

In events management, reputation is currency. I designed the site around a show, don’t tell philosophy — leading with imagery and case studies from past events rather than relying on generic descriptions. Every claim of expertise is backed by visual evidence.

Making AV hire accessible

AV hire is a significant revenue stream, but the previous site buried it. I gave AV its own dedicated section with clear equipment categories, specification details, and hire enquiry forms — treating it as a standalone service that clients can engage with independently.

The solution

Homepage and service architecture

Events Guys homepage

The homepage is designed to convert three types of visitor: the private client planning a celebration, the corporate buyer sourcing an events partner, and the production manager looking for AV equipment. Each finds a clear pathway within seconds of landing on the page.

Service pages

Each service area has a dedicated, richly detailed page:

  • Private parties — Showcasing the team’s ability to handle everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations, with examples of past events and a clear process from enquiry to delivery
  • Festivals and live events — Highlighting experience with outdoor events, stage management, artist booking, and full production — the kind of work that requires serious logistical expertise
  • Corporate events — Professional tone and case studies demonstrating experience with product launches, conferences, awards ceremonies, and company events
  • AV hire — Equipment catalogue with specifications, hire rates, and the option for full technical support

Event portfolio

The portfolio section is the centrepiece of the site’s credibility. Each featured event includes:

  • High-quality photography from the event itself
  • Event overview — Type, scale, venue, and key challenges
  • Services provided — Specific breakdown of what Events Guys delivered
  • Client feedback where available

This isn’t just a gallery — it’s structured evidence of capability, designed to give prospective clients the confidence to commit.

Enquiry system

Different events have different lead times and requirements. The enquiry system is tailored accordingly:

  • Quick enquiry forms on every service page, pre-populated with the relevant service type
  • Detailed event brief forms for clients who know what they want and need a quote
  • AV hire request forms with equipment selection and date availability
  • Prominent phone and email for clients who prefer direct contact

Technical delivery

The site is built on WordPress with Elementor, hosted on Hetzner. WordPress and Elementor give the team the ability to update content, add new events to their portfolio, and manage enquiries themselves. Hosted on Hetzner for reliable performance and fast loading.

  • Optimised imagery — Event photography compressed and served in modern formats without sacrificing quality
  • Responsive design — Corporate clients browsing on laptops, party planners on phones — every device gets a polished experience
  • SEO foundations — Service and location-specific pages targeting relevant search terms
  • Self-service content management — The team can update portfolio items, add new events, and manage content through the familiar WordPress interface

The results

The new site gives Events Guys a digital presence that matches their four decades of experience:

  • Professional credibility — A website that communicates the scale and quality of the business at first glance
  • New enquiry channels — Structured service pages and tailored enquiry forms opening up leads that word-of-mouth alone couldn’t reach
  • Portfolio-driven conversions — Prospective clients browsing past events and making decisions based on demonstrated capability
  • AV hire visibility — A previously hidden revenue stream now has its own dedicated, searchable presence
  • Improved search visibility — Service-specific pages ranking for targeted event management search terms
  • Reduced reliance on referrals — The website now generates its own stream of qualified enquiries
